US Issues Travel Advisory To Citizens Not To Visit Enugu, Imo, Borno, 15 Other Locations.

The US Department of State has advised Americans to reconsider traveling to Nigeria due to crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, and armed gangs. The US advised against travelling to Borno, Yobe, Kogi, and northern Adamawa states due to terrorism and kidnapping, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara states due to kidnapping, Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Enugu, Imo, and Rivers states (with the exception of Port Harcourt). Violent crime, such as armed robbery, assault, carjacking, kidnapping, hostage taking, roadside banditry, and rape, is common throughout Nigeria. Kidnappings for ransom occur frequently, often targeting dual national citizens who have returned to Nigeria for a visit, as well as U.S. citizens with perceived wealth. Terrorists continue plotting and carrying out attacks in Nigeria, targeting shopping centers, malls, markets, hotels, places of worship, restaurants, bars, schools, government installations, transportation hubs, and other places where crowds gather. Civil unrest and armed gangs are also pervasive in parts of Southern Nigeria, especially in the Niger Delta and Southeast regions. The US has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in many areas of Nigeria due to security conditions.

Mohbad’s Death: Association States Suspect Detained Is Not A Licensed Nurse.

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Lagos State Council, has confirmed that the suspect arrested for injecting musician Ilerioluwa Aloba is not a registered nurse. The association stated that the suspect is not a member of the NANNM and is not licensed to practice nursing in Nigeria. The association expressed deep condolences to the family and associates of Mohbad and called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation. The NANNM emphasizes the importance of verifying the qualifications and professional status of individuals before labeling them as healthcare professionals. In Nigeria, to be recognized as a nurse, one must complete a rigorous five-year Bachelor of Nursing Science program at a university, followed by an additional year of internship. Alternatively, one can undergo training at an accredited School/College of Nursing and become registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. The NANNM calls on investigating authorities and the media to exercise caution and accuracy in their reporting during the investigation.

Top Yoruba Association Revokes All Chieftaincy Titles from Obasanjo

The Yoruba Council Worldwide, a leading Yoruba organization, has decided to revoke all honorary titles bestowed upon the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, in Yoruba territories.

TheNewsGuru.com remembers that Obasanjo had previously requested Yoruba kings to stand in the presence of the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, during an event in Ibadan. This demand was met with resentment, as the nobles felt they were being treated like mere soldiers in khaki uniforms.

In response to the outrage expressed by the monarchs—who felt belittled—, the Yoruba Council Worldwide issued a statement. Authored by Aare Oba Oladotun Hassan, the President of the council, and Siyanbade Adekanmbi, the Secretary, it was announced late Wednesday that Obasanjo would be stripped of all his titles.

The Council states:

“Referring to the subject above,

Considering we, the Yoruba Council Worldwide—being the foremost Yoruba indigenous organization—have not received a public apology in response to our notice on 16th of September, 2023, we hereby cease to acknowledge your Chieftaincy titles granted by any monarchs in Yoruba Land, including the Balogun of Owu Kingdom. This is due to your blatant refusal to apologize for your disrespectful remarks towards the Yoruba Obas on September 15th, 2023 at Iseyin, Oyo State. We regard this as a complete sacrilege.

We view your disrespectful remarks made during the opening of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Iseyin campus, where you ordered kings from Oyo State to rise and show you respect, with contempt. This, along with your defense in premium times, is seen as you treating our highest royals and other leading Obas as if they are mere children, like a village school teacher or an Army General ordering his subordinates in an insulting and disrespectful fashion.”

“We restate our position as the leading advocate for all Yoruba indigenous people worldwide, and uphold our perpetual responsibility to protect the unique Omoluabi ethos, royal authority, and ancestral customs and traditions of the Yoruba Obaship. We had earlier requested an immediate apology within three days, but you openly disregarded this request.

“We plan to initiate a rigorous legal action for defamation and scandalous libel in an appropriate court of law.

“Moreover, we will rally all market women, youths, and thought leaders to ensure cleanliness and adherence to our proclamation immediately.

We have spoken with absolute conviction!

Our Son Bought a Porsche Sports Car for $20…??😲😲

A 17-year-old boy who works part-time at Pizza Hut drives up to park in front of the house in a beautiful Porsche.

Naturally, his parents know that there’s no way he earned enough with his after-school job to buy such a car.

“Where did you get that car?” his mom and dad screamed in shock.

“I bought it today,” replied the teen calmly.

“With what money young man?” his mom demands. “We know how much a Porsche costs and you cannot afford it!”

“Well, it’s used and I got a good deal,” says the boy, “This one cost me 20 dollars.”

“Who on earth would sell a car like that for 20 dollars?!”

“The woman up the street,” the boy replies. “I don’t know her name–she just moved in. She ordered a pizza and when I delivered it to her, she asked me if I wanted to buy a Porsche for 20 dollars.”

The boy’s dad and mom hurry over to their new neighbor’s house, ready to demand an explanation. Curiously, their new neighbor is calmly planting flowers in her front yard.

“I’m the father of the kid you just sold a sports car to for $20,” the dad says. “I need an explanation from you!”

“Well,” the woman says, not looking up from her garden. “This morning I got a phone call from my husband. I thought he was on a business trip in Florida, but it seems he has run off to Hawaii with his secretary and doesn’t intend to come back.”

“What on earth does that have to do with selling our son a Porsche for $20?” The boy’s mom asks, utterly perplexed.

The new neighbor smiles very big, and pauses for a minute. “Well, my husband asked me to sell his new Porsche and send him the money.

“So I did.”
